Typical Application: Multi-Point Synchronous Lifting for Bridge Bearing Replacement

This is a typical application scenario provided for reference. It does not describe a specific customer project.

Reference setup for lifting a bridge span or heavy structure at several points at once using double-acting cylinders and a PLC-controlled split-flow pump, so bearings can be replaced while the deck stays level.
Typical Application: Multi-Point Synchronous Lifting for Bridge Bearing Replacement

Typical application scenario — this page describes how our equipment is commonly configured for this type of job. It is a reference, not a specific customer project.

Scenario

Bridge bearings, crane girders and large steel structures sometimes need to be lifted a few millimetres to replace bearings or pads. The structure must stay level during the lift, because uneven jacking can add stress to the deck or girders.

Typical challenges

  • Several lifting points with different loads
  • Limited height between pier and girder
  • Need to hold the load safely for hours while work is done

Equipment usually used

Typical procedure

  1. Calculate the load at each point and choose cylinder capacity with a safety margin (usually 1.25–1.5×).
  2. Place cylinders and displacement sensors, connect hoses to the synchronous pump.
  3. Lift in small steps while the PLC keeps all points level, then lock the mechanical nuts.
  4. Replace bearings, lower the structure in steps and remove the equipment.

Every lifting job is different. Send us your loads, number of points and available height, and our engineers will suggest a setup.
