Typical Application: Flange Alignment and Leveling on Wind Turbine Foundations

This is a typical application scenario provided for reference. It does not describe a specific customer project.

Reference setup for opening, aligning and leveling large tower or foundation flanges with hydraulic flange spreaders, wedges and low-height lock-nut cylinders.
Typical Application: Flange Alignment and Leveling on Wind Turbine Foundations

Typical application scenario — this page describes how our equipment is commonly configured for this type of job. It is a reference, not a specific customer project.

Scenario

When tower sections or foundation pieces are joined, the flanges must be opened, aligned and levelled before bolting. The work is often done in tight spaces and in wet or salty environments.

Typical challenges

  • Heavy flanges that need small, controlled movements
  • Very little gap to insert tools
  • Corrosive working environment

Equipment usually used

Typical procedure

  1. Insert wedges at several points around the flange and open the gap evenly.
  2. Use alignment tools to line up the bolt holes.
  3. Level the section with low-height cylinders and lock the mechanical nuts.
  4. Insert bolts and continue with torque or tensioning.

Tell us the flange size, gap and weight involved, and we will suggest suitable tools.
